Foremetrics vs Stockopedia: Rankings or Your Own Model?

Stockopedia and Foremetrics answer the same question in opposite ways. Stockopedia scores a company for you: quality, value, momentum, rolled into a StockRank. Foremetrics asks you to make the call by building the model yourself.

    Where Stockopedia is stronger

Factor screening depth. StockRanks and the style classifications are genuinely good at narrowing a large universe to a shortlist without you writing filter logic from scratch.

UK and European coverage. Stockopedia has long been strongest on UK-listed companies, which matters if that is where you invest.

Published commentary. There is a body of research writing and discussion around the rankings that some subscribers value as much as the data itself.

    Where Foremetrics is stronger

Price. EUR 8.90/month against GBP 32 / $45 per month. That is roughly a quarter of the cost at the entry tier.

You own the valuation. A StockRank compresses a company into a score. Foremetrics does the opposite: you choose the revenue growth, the margin path, the discount rate, and the exit multiple, and you see what each choice does to fair value. If you disagree with a consensus assumption, you change it.

Scenarios you revisit. Bear, base, and bull cases are stored per ticker, so a year later you can check which case the company actually delivered.

Tokenized equities. Foremetrics tracks tokenized stocks alongside their underlying listings, including the premium or discount between the two.

    Which one to pick

Pick Stockopedia if your bottleneck is idea generation — you want a ranked shortlist from a large universe, especially in the UK, and you are comfortable with a systematic score doing the first pass.

Pick Foremetrics if your bottleneck is conviction — you already have a watchlist and want to work out what a business is worth under assumptions you chose, at a much lower annual cost.

    FAQ

Does Foremetrics have anything like StockRanks?
Foremetrics shows a composite rating badge built from several fundamental metrics, but it is deliberately lighter than StockRanks. The product is built around the model, not the score.

Is Stockopedia better for UK stocks?
Its UK coverage and factor data are a long-standing strength, yes. If UK small caps are your focus, weigh that heavily.

    Can I use both?
They complement each other well: screen in Stockopedia, value in Foremetrics.
