Best Stock Analysis Tools for Dutch Investors (2026)

    The short answer

Most stock research tools are built for American investors: priced in dollars, focused on US stocks, written for a US tax system. If you invest from the Netherlands, a few things matter more than the feature list.

The best choice depends on how you invest. Foremetrics suits investors who want to value stocks themselves and track a multi-currency portfolio for a euro price. stockanalysis.com is the best free place to read financials. IEX Premium is the go-to for Dutch-language analysis of Dutch and Belgian stocks. Simply Wall St, Stockopedia and TIKR each win on something specific, covered below.

Prices are as of October 2026 and can change, so check each vendor’s own site before you subscribe.

What Dutch investors should look for

    • Pricing in euros. A $25/month tool costs more than it looks once the exchange rate and card fees are added. A euro price makes your yearly cost predictable.
    • US and European coverage. Most Dutch investors hold a mix: AEX names like ASML or Shell next to US stocks and ETFs. Check that the tool covers Euronext Amsterdam, not only the US.
    • Multi-currency portfolio tracking. If you hold stocks in dollars and euros, your returns should show in euros, including currency effects.
    • Valuation, not just data. Box 3 currently taxes a deemed return on your investments each year, whether or not you sell. That makes it even more important to know what you own is worth, not just what it did last week.
    • EU-based data handling. A tool that runs under EU privacy law (GDPR) and keeps tracking to a minimum is a plus when you load in your full portfolio.

A note on box 3. For 2026 the Belastingdienst assumes a 6.00% return on investments, taxed at 36%, above a tax-free allowance of €59,357 per person (Wesselman). A new system that taxes actual returns is planned from 1 January 2028; the Tweede Kamer approved the bill on 12 February 2026 (Rijksoverheid). Tax rules and individual circumstances can differ; check with a tax adviser for your own situation.

    The tools, one by one

    1. Foremetrics — best for valuing stocks yourself, in euros

Foremetrics is a research workspace built in Amsterdam for individual investors. Every stock page has a Custom DCF tab where you set revenue growth, margins and WACC yourself, plus a Projection tab with Bear, Base and Bull cases. My Portfolio tracks cost basis, unrealized P/L and allocation with multi-currency support, and the Wealth Tracker follows progress toward a long-term goal.

One plan includes everything for €8.90 a month or €89 a year, with a 14-day trial and no card needed.

Falls short on: data breadth. If you want 30 years of history or bulk exports, a data-first tool goes further.

    2. stockanalysis.com — best free fundamentals

Fast, clean and mostly free. You can read income statements, balance sheets and ratios for 130,000+ global stocks and funds without paying. Pro ($9.99/month or $79/year) adds longer history, downloads and brokerage sync.

Falls short on: valuation. Its DCF is a separate calculator, not built into each stock, and there are no scenario projections. Prices are in dollars. See our full Foremetrics vs stockanalysis.com comparison.

    3. IEX Premium — best for Dutch-language analysis

IEX is one of the best-known Dutch investment sites. The free site covers market news; Premium adds in-depth analyses and stock opinions from Dutch analysts, with a strong focus on Dutch and Belgian listed companies.

Falls short on: doing your own analysis. You mainly read someone else’s view. If you want to stress-test the numbers yourself, pair it with a valuation tool.

    4. Simply Wall St — best for a quick visual overview

Simply Wall St turns each company into a “snowflake” chart and a pre-computed fair value. It covers 120,000+ stocks across 90+ markets (Simply Wall St). The free plan allows 5 company reports a month and one portfolio of 10 holdings; Premium costs about $131 a year.

Falls short on: control. The fair value comes from a standardized model, so you can’t change the assumptions behind it. Read Foremetrics vs Simply Wall St.

    5. Stockopedia — best for rules-based screening, including Europe

Stockopedia ranks stocks on quality, value and momentum. It covers 7,500+ European stocks across 34 countries, including Euronext Amsterdam, and starts at £295 a year after a 14-day trial (Stockopedia).

Falls short on: price and valuation depth. It’s one of the pricier options, and its rankings tell you what scores well, not what a business is worth. Read Foremetrics vs Stockopedia.

    6. TIKR — best for deep global data

TIKR offers long financial histories, transcripts and global coverage. The free plan is US-only with five years of history; Plus ($24.95/month) and higher unlock global data (TIKR).

Falls short on: cost for European investors. You need a paid plan to see AEX stocks at all, and the useful tiers cost several times more than the others here. Read Foremetrics vs TIKR.

    Which one fits you

    • You want to form your own view of what a stock is worth: Foremetrics, or TIKR if budget is no issue.
    • You want free numbers to read: stockanalysis.com.
    • You prefer reading Dutch analysts’ opinions on AEX and AMX names: IEX Premium.
    • You want a verdict at a glance: Simply Wall St.
    • You screen by rules across European small caps: Stockopedia.

Many Dutch investors combine two: a free data source for quick lookups, and one paid workspace where the valuation, portfolio and decisions live.

    FAQ

What is the best free stock analysis tool in the Netherlands?

For raw financial data, stockanalysis.com’s free tier is hard to beat. For Dutch-language market news, the free part of IEX.nl is a good start.

Do I pay tax on my investments in the Netherlands if I don’t sell?

Currently, yes. Box 3 taxes a deemed return on your investments above the tax-free allowance each year, regardless of whether you sell. A switch to taxing actual returns is planned for 2028. Check the current rules and your individual position with a tax adviser.

Are US research tools a problem for Dutch investors?

Not usually, but watch the currency. Prices in dollars or pounds change with the exchange rate, and some free plans cover only US stocks.

Do I need a paid tool to invest well?

No. But if you track more than a handful of stocks, or want to value them yourself, a paid tool saves hours of spreadsheet work each month.

Which tool is cheapest for valuation?

Of the tools here with an editable DCF built into each stock page, Foremetrics is the lowest-priced at €8.90 a month.
